Otoplasty, also known as aesthetic ear surgery or prominent ear surgery, is the process of changing the shape, position or size of the ears.
If your ears are too prominent or separated from your head, you may prefer otoplasty. You may also consider otoplasty if your ear or ears are misshapen due to an injury or birth defect.
Otoplasty, can be done after the ears reach their full size
– usually after the age of 5
– it can be done at any age up to adulthood.
Otoplasty is typically done on both ears to optimize symmetry.
Otoplasty does not relocate your ears or alter your ability to hear.
